Pope Leo XIV continues his Apostolic visit with a trip to Angola, Africa
On Monday, April 20, 2026, Pope Leo celebrated Mass in Saurimo, Angola, as part of his four-nation Apostolic journey. Pope Leo urged the faithful of Angola to follow the Risen Lord, who leads the way and sanctifies us, and "to not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures for eternal life.”

Vatican events planned in honor of Pope Francis - April 21
Today, Tuesday, April 21, 2026, marks the first anniversary of the death of Pope Francis. Vatican News will broadcast a live Rosary and Mass at the Basilica of St. Mary Major where Pope Francis is buried. Also, in conjunction with the anniversary, Vatican News will release a 26-minute documentary (subtitled in English, Italian and Spanish)
. The Rosary will begin at 11 a.m. EST. Afterwards, the Mass will be celebrated, during which a message from Pope Leo XIV, currently on his Apostolic Journey in Africa, will be read. Read the full news brief
