Next Caregiver Connection August 3rd
Are you a caregiver for someone with a disability? Do you sometimes feel alone or overwhelmed? We invite you to join us for our virtual gathering to build relationships, share experiences, and create a supportive community. We'll spend some time getting to know each other and share a brief reflection on the Sunday scriptures.
We gather via ZOOM on the first Sunday of the month** from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.
(** on holiday weekends we shift to the second Sunday)

Save the Date: Michigan March for Life Returns to Lansing November 6, 2025
The national March for Life organization – which organizes the long-running annual event in Washington – along with Right to Life of Michigan initiated the Michigan March for Life after Proposal 3 as well as the repeal of Roe v. Wade to bolster attention to pro-life advocacy at the state level.
This year’s March is planned two days before the Proposal 3 anniversary date to align with a scheduled session day for the Legislature, providing an opportunity to remind lawmakers of the continuing pro-life movement in Michigan.
Similar to the inaugural March, the event will formally begin at 10 a.m. with a concert on the Capitol lawn, followed by an 11 a.m. rally featuring a lineup of speakers, and concluding with a noon march throughout downtown Lansing.
Catholics are already expected to be well-represented in the official event activities, including an opening prayer that will be given by Detroit Archbishop Edward J. Weisenburger before the Capitol lawn rally.
More event details are in the works. Michigan Catholic Conference participates on the statewide planning committee and will share details when they become available, including scheduled speakers and any supporting events planned around the March.

Action Alert! The Reducing Homelessness Through Program Reform Act
Right now, Congress has the opportunity to support critical, targeted reforms that will help communities prevent and respond to homelessness more effectively. The Reducing Homelessness Through Program Reform Act offers practical solutions grounded in the daily experiences of service providers across the country. Catholic Charities USA has endorsed this legislation and continues to work to build support for its passage.
The bill reflects real challenges that providers face and responds with tangible changes that make federal programs more flexible, reduce unnecessary delays, and allow organizations to focus resources where they are needed most: helping people secure stable housing.

- Increase flexibility and reduce red tape in HUD's Continuum of Care and Emergency Solutions Grants programs

- Support small, rural, and Tribal communities with limited resources
Housing is foundational and this legislation helps ensure federal investments are used effectively to reduce homelessness in communities nationwide.
