Father Michael Rejent: 1940-2025
Father Michael Rejent, OSFS, 84, died on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 after a short illness. Father Rejent was ordained a priest for the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales on October 28, 1968. During his priesthood he ministered in the Diocese of Kalamazoo including being Chaplain at Hackett Catholic Prep (2000-2009) and in pastoral ministry at SS John/Bernard, Benton Harbor (2009-2018) and Holy Family, Decatur, Parishes (2018-2020).
Following are the arrangements:
Thursday, April 3, 2025: Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 10516 Hayes Rd Clarklake, Michigan. The Mass for Christian Burial will begin following the visitation at 11 am. The Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Toledo on Friday, April 4, at 11 a.m.

Maintenance and Cemetery Caretaker - Part-time This position is responsible for maintenance at the Diocesan Pastoral Center, Mount Olivet facilities and the diocesan bishop's residence. This position also maintains the day-to-day operations at Mount Olivet and Catholic Riverside Cemeteries. Coordinator for the Office of Ministry to Disciples - Under the direction of the Executive Director of Office of Mission & Ministry, the Ministry to Disciples position will work collaboratively with the Office of Mission & Ministry team to strengthen all Hispanic and English-speaking parishes of the Diocese of Kalamazoo in living out the mission of the bishop. Shrine of St. Jude Visits SS John & Bernard Parish
On March 17-19, Fr. Michael Ford came from the Shrine of St. Jude in Chicago. Father brought the 1st class relic of St. Jude's right arm, which had been encased for over 400 years. He also gave a Lenten Mission Talk on Hope during this Jubilee Year. Following the Mass on March 19, we celebrated the Solemnity of St. Joseph with a St. Joseph Table. The rooms were full to capacity and no one left hungry.
